Community Relations and Cultural Affairs (CRCA) is a division of the Halifax Regional Municipality’s Community Development Department which offers the following services:

Hosts many community based special events each year including Canada Day and Natal Day |
Supports the work of volunteers and non-profit organizations by offering workshops
and training |
Preserves, presents and promotes culture and heritage for the benefit of our citizen’s and the enjoyment of visitors |

Welcomes newcomers to the community and provides information about important programs and services |
Engages communities in implementing the Regional Plan at the local level |
Promotes the principles of effective and inclusive citizen engagement through training, engagement planning and design assistance, and program delivery |

An online community for people who want to make a personal commitment to doing small but significant neighbourly acts that make their neighbourhoods great places to live, work and play |
Supports youth in accessing Halifax Regional Municipality’s Council, staff and resources for youth initiatives |
A pilot program to prevent youth from engaging in gang related activities, or
anti-social and
criminal behaviours while enhancing public safety |
