"Bird of Spring" was commissioned by the Devonian Group, a organization of charitable foundations based in Calgary, to commemorate their financial donation to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. The seven foot high, nine foot wide bronze bird stands with outstretched wings on a small square concrete base and was modelled on an Inuit soapstone carving.
