The Boer War Memorial Fountain commemorates the services of soldiers in the South African Campaign (1899-1902). Set on a central fountain base with cherub figures at the base is a soldier standing, holding a rifle. He is wearing a stetson hat and is in the uniform of a Canadian Mounted Rifleman. The model for the figure was Nova Scotia athlete Billy Pickering.
