A GUIDE TO FREE-STANDING SCULPTURE

THE HALIFAX MEMORIAL CROSS
The Halifax Memorial Cross honors the men and women of the Canadian Army, Navy, and Merchant Marine who fought during the First and Second World Wars and whose bodies lie in unknown graves. Their names are inscribed on the front and back of the monument's podium according to their rank and year of death. A cross with curved edges is set on the octagonal granite-tiered pedestal podium.
