The Diamond Jubilee Fountain was erected by the Commissioners of the Halifax Public Gardens in honour of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. The metal nymph fountain is classical in style with the centre stem rising from a base in the form of a corinthian column surrounded by four water babies on sea-serpents. The basin holds the nymph "ergeria" carrying an urn and standing among bulrushes.
