"LIONS"

"Lions" symbolize the vigilance and protection of the empire which the mother country had exercised since her earliest days. The two identical lions are replicas of the Landseer Lions in Trafalgar Square and flank the top stairway of the entrance to the 200 foot Memorial Tower. They are bronze, 10 feet in length, and are resting on their haunches with their front paws outstretched.

Sculptor: A. Bruce-Joy, London/Percy Bentham
