MEETINGS

Meetings are held 6:30 to 8:00 pm on the second Wednesday of each month at the Lakeside Community Centre at #1492 St. Margaret's Bay Road.

COMMUNITY STATUS REPORTERS

Community Status Reporters (CSR) are volunteers residing in communities served by the Joint Emergency Management (JEM), who provide status reports on the impact that emergency situations have had on their communities.  This is done by submitting completed check sheets to the JEM Support Centres (JSC) outlining the extent of damage to utilities, the extent of flooding or road blockages brought about by heavy snow, trees or power lines across roadways, etc.  The check-sheet covers a wide variety of situations reported.

Each CSR, will be provided with maps of their own areas as well as instruction on how to complete check sheets and other related instructions.  They will not be required to attend regular meetings unless they wish to and will be notified by CityWatch should their services be required.  Like other volunteers who are registered and signed-in with HRM-EMO, these volunteers will be covered by special liability insurance.

CONTACT INFORMATION

In order to better serve the greater Prospect and St. Margaret's Bay area, additional volunteers are needed.  If you would like to help out either as a full JEM volunteer or as a Community Status Reporter, your services would be very welcome.  Those who are interested, please call 490-3939 and leave your name and telephone number.  A JEM team member will contact you within a few days.
