HRM's Municipal Services Information regarding:
HRM is readying the North Common to host the Speed Skating competitions of the 2011 Canada Winter Games. Work to install the infrastructure will begin in the fall with the track scheduled to be completed and in place by Dec. 1, 2010. *Because of this, the grounds will be levelled out but not re-sodded and re-seeded, as would typically be done.
The temporary long track oval will be constructed on the Halifax North Common to host Speed Skating during week one of the Games.
