While in Haverhill, members had the opportunity to compete in the inaugural Cutters Edge Truck Company Challenge. This challenge is designed to simulate truck rescue operations.
Teams of two are required to cut a ventilation hole within a marked area on the Roof Ventilation Station and, after the cut material goes through the opening teams race to the Forcible Entry Station to select a saw and tools.
After cutting carriage bolt heads and a locking mechanism, they force open a door and replace the tools on the ground. Both team members proceed through the door and one member drags “Rescue Randy”, a 175 pound simulated victim, 50 feet to the finish line.
In their first attempt ever at this event our teams showcased impressive skills and amazing times. Bruce Mosher and Adam MacNeil placed an outstanding 1st place. Joe Triff and Mike Sears took home 3rd. Congratulations guys, excellent work all around!
The team is now busy practicing for the upcoming Nationals in Quinte West... best of luck for a repeat show of success!
