Camp Courage is a free police, fire, and paramedic day camp for girls. It informs and educates young women between the ages of 15 and 19 about non-traditional professions and inspires them to reach their potential.
Applications are now being accepted for its 2013 program to be held July 7-14. To be accepted, applicants are requested to write a 500-word essay on one of two topics:
1. How can you improve the life of someone less fortunate? OR
2. How can you improve your community?
The camp is free and 24 young women will be selected. Submissions must be completed by March 1, 2013.
Note: In lieu of paying a fee to attend the camp, the applicants, once selected, are required to make an effort to fulfill the improvements outlined in their essays.
