Halifax Water has created an interactive map of fire hydrant and catchbasin locations in Halifax Municipality. Users can use this valuable tool to locate hydrants and catchbasins in their neighborhoods for all kinds of applications such as locating a nearby hydrant for home insurance purposes, in times of inclement weather (i.e. snow/ice storms, excessive rain events, etc.), or general interest, just to name a few.
You can also access the Hydrant & Catchbasin Interactive Map on your mobile device or tablet by scanning the QR Code (left).
This new service also allows users to report hydrants that are leaking or damaged through a hydrant identification number displayed in the search application. Users can also report a damaged or missing catchbasin.
It is hoped this new online service will provide residents with the information they had requested and prove an excellent tool to help users provide feedback to Halifax Water regarding damaged hydrants or catchbasins.
