On Sunday, February 21, 2010 the Honourable Peter MacKay and Councillor Gloria McCluskey announced an additional investment of $620,000 to support energy efficiency upgrades for the Dartmouth Sportsplex and improvements for the Portland Hills trail.

On Monday, December 14, 2009 the Honourable Peter MacKay and Mayor Peter Kelly announced an investment of $710,000 to support a series of upgrades to recreational facilities in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
