Beginning on Monday, August 27, the opening of the new Sheldrake Lake Park and Ride will make commuting from Sheldrake Lake and the surrounding areas to downtown Halifax much easier.

As part of Metro Transit’s continued improvements to existing transit services, the Sheldrake Lake Park & Ride expands the current MetroX Tantallon service, aptly renamed MetroX 330 Tantallon/Sheldrake Lake, to provide the surrounding communities with efficient and accessible transit service.

The new 48 vehicle-capacity Park & Ride, located at Exit 4, off Highway 103, is free of charge to transit users and available for use during transit service hours.

To promote active transportation, bike racks are available on-site for those who may be inclined to bike instead of drive. As well, MetroX buses are equipped with a bike rack, which can accommodate two bikes.

Effective August 27, schedule adjustments are as follows:

  • Three additional morning trips from the new Sheldrake Lake Park & Ride to Albemarle St.
  • Three additional late afternoon trips from Albemarle St. to Sheldrake Lake Park & Ride
  • Some existing afternoon and evening trips will service the Sheldrake Lake Park & Ride

Please note:

  • Passengers are encouraged to review the updated Route 330 schedule as new adjustments may affect departure and arrival times
  • When boarding on Albemarle St., check the destination sign to ensure which Park & Ride the bus is servicing

The MetroX service, designed with the weekday commuter in mind, brings express transit from Tantallon to the downtown core.

The MetroX 330 Tantallon bus is different than standard city buses; specifically built and designed with comfortable seats, air conditioning, and fully-accessible (one wheelchair can be accommodated by a lift at the rear of the bus).
