Halifax Regional Police (HRP) began the strategic planning process in May 2013 with the creation of a Strategic Planning Group comprised of a cross-section of our employees. A comprehensive consultative process then followed, which included conducting extensive research into who we are and where we want and need to go over the next 10 years. We knew the only way to create a successful plan was to reach out to members of our community and various stakeholders, as well as HRP employees, to discover the vision they had for their police agency.
The final Strategic Plan is the result of extensive community and employee input, as well as asking ourselves some very tough questions. Through online surveys and engagement sessions, we learned our strengths, weaknesses and opportunities. We thank everyone who provided feedback. Your insight and well-considered comments will help us shape the future of HRP.
