Cop Shop 2009
Smiles and crazy Christmas hats were the dress of the day for police officers involved with the fifth annual Cop Shop at Halifax Shopping Centre on December 16.
The annual event paired 50 deserving kids with officers who served as their personal shoppers. For two hours, the kids got a chance to spend a $200 gift card supplied by the mall.
Armed with Christmas wish lists, the shopping duos headed out to make Christmas a little brighter for many families in HRM.

Cops `n Kids 2009
Cops ‘n Kids 2009 kicked off on September 25 with eighty-five grade seven students, deemed to be at-risk youth, participating in an experiential learning weekend at the Tim Hortons’ Camp in Tatamagouche. This event is a partnership between Halifax Regional Police (HRP), RCMP Halifax District and the Halifax Regional School Board. Police were joined this year by staff from HRM Community Development and a Youth Advocate Worker. The students will participate in a number of events throughout the year with a goal of connecting them with an ongoing service in our community (e.g. Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, etc.) after they ‘graduate. |
