Police Investigating Weapons Complaint

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a weapons related complaint that occurred this afternoon at a high school in Halifax.

At 12:07 p.m., police responded to Citadel High School, located at 1855 Trollope Street, in relation to a male youth who was allegedly in possession of a hand gun. He was taken in to custody by officers and the area checked, however, no gun was located.

The investigation by officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section has determined the information provided to police about the incident was fabricated and the youth was not in possession of a firearm. He has been released without charges.
