HRP Officers Receive Awards

Two Halifax Regional Police officers were presented with awards last night at the HomeBridge Youth Society’s Annual General Meeting.

Cst. Geoff Stark and Cst. Chris McDermott, Community Response Officers in East and West Divisions respectively, and have worked closely with staff and youth at the facility to build a strong relationship between Homebridge Youth Society and Halifax Regional Police.

The officers provide guidance, training and support when it comes to the criminal justice system and make themselves available to review individual orders when the Youth Care Team requires clarification. They promote the work of HomeBridge, are responsive to requests from staff and assist HomeBridge employees when responding to concerns of the community. They balance compassion and authority when working with youth and exemplify professionalism.

Halifax Regional Police congratulates Csts. Stark and McDermott on their significant work in the community and thanks HomeBridge Youth Society for recognizing their contribution.
