| Burnside Watch volunteers give of their time and talents in an effort to prevent crime in the Burnside Business Park and Dartmouth Crossing areas. Working in cooperation with Halifax Regional Police, the group conducts random patrols both day and night and reports suspicious activity to police. They relay information about break and enters, alarms, suspicious persons or vehicles, fires, accidents, and drivers who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. |

- 19 years of age or older
- Hold a valid Nova Scotia Driver’s Licence
- Pass Halifax Regional Police security clearances
- Able to make a minimum one-year commitment of at least 120 hours per year
- Mature, reliable, team player
- Observe activity and take notes
- Report suspicious activity to police
- Complete a minimum 4-hour shift/week
- Attend group meetings/training sessions
- Assist in emergency situations when requested by police, fire or EHS
