The Integrated RCMP/HRP Major Crime unit is investigating the homicide of Laura Lee Cross.

On October 14, 2002, at approximately 5:30 p.m. police responded to a report of two hunters who discovered human skeletal remains off a logging road near Dollar Lake Provincial Park, which is located on the Old Guysborough Road, 18 kilometers from Highway 102 at the Halifax International Airport exit. The skeletal remains were lated identified as those of the victim, Laura Lee Cross. The investigation revealed that the victim had last been seen on July 12, 2001, and she had been reported missing by her family in August 2001. The victim had been living at 18 Middle Street, Apartment 6, Dartmouth at the time of her disappearance.
