Nomination Information

Selected volunteers from the Halifax Regional Municipality will be chosen in March 2010 to represent the thousands of volunteers presently working throughout our municipality. These volunteers will be recognized by HRM during Volunteer Week, April 18 - 24, 2010. Representatives may also be invited to a Provincial Volunteer Awards Ceremony and Luncheon. This event will be hosted by Recreation Nova Scotia for the Province of Nova Scotia. All other nominees will receive an HRM Volunteer Appreciation plaque. Please nominate a deserving volunteer from your organization to be considered for selection as one of the HRM representatives.

Criteria:

• Youth (Ages 13-19).
• Adult (Ages 20+).
• All nominations must appear on a separate form.
• Please feel free to make copies of this form or call the number below for additional forms.
• Nominated volunteers may be either an individual within your organization or someone you feel is representative of voluntarism and deserving recognition.
• All sponsors must fill out the Point Form application for their nominee.
• Please research your nominee's entire volunteer experience, not just the work they have done with your organization.
• Please record the complete volunteer experience on the forms provided to ensure fairness in the assessment process.
• Please note that sponsors are limited to nominating only one individual from their organization. No couples, or groups or multiple individuals please.

Youth Volunteer Form:

• This form has an extra sheet, if you wish your nominee to be considered as the Provincial Youth Volunteer of the Year please have the Nominee fill in this sheet.
• Applications including this additional information will be forwarded by HRM to the Provincial committee for consideration.
