Streets & Roads

Street maintenance services includes the following: street sweeping, service truck/litter pick-up, leaf pick-up, asphalt patching, gravel road maintenance and guardrail maintenance. The leaf pick-up and street sweeping are seasonal services provided between May and October annually. The other services are provided year round. The major priority of this service is to contribute to the achievement of HRM's strategic direction regarding public safety, provision of acceptable levels of risk management and protection of the investment in HRM streets, guardrails, and other related plant. In achieving this priority, these services provide for a safer street system for use by HRM residents and visitors, and a more aesthetically and environmentally acceptable street scape, thus enhancing the quality of life in HRM.
