ACTIVE Halifax Communities exists for the purpose of increasing the number of physically active children, youth and families in the Halifax Regional Municipality of populations facing health disparities. Focus populations include girls and women, persons with a disability, newcomers, persons living in poverty and Aboriginals. Through collaborative partnerships, we strive to build awareness, participation, and to build on community capacity for active living.
The work of ACTIVE Halifax Communities is directed by various advisory committees that represent our these populations. If you would like more information on these groups or if you are interested in joining one, please contact the ACTIVE Halifax Communities Coordinator.
