Schedule of Events

Like HRM Bike Week on Facebook Like us on Facebook to get notified when event information is updated.

This year, Bike Week will be from June 2 to 11, 2017 and the theme is Cycling for Everyone. The Bike Week committee has decided again to support Bike Week events all summer long. While most of the “signature” Bike Week events and many community events will be during Bike Week, we will support and publicize community-based bicycling promotion and education events throughout the summer.

If you have any questions, please email or phone David MacIsaac or 902.490.1665.

The municipality is not responsible or liable for those events which are organized by others, but held in conjunction with Bike Week.

Events taking place before Bike Week:

Southwest Sunday Cycle (15km)
8 a.m. (sign in), 9 a.m. start
Meet at the Emera Oval, Halifax Common

Join us for this leisurely 15 km ride exploring Halifax's leafy neighbourhoods and quiet streets. This ride is perfect for people who know how to ride a bicycle but haven't done it in a while, or more experienced riders who want to enjoy pedaling the peninsula in a large group. We will have a police escort so that we can take the lane, ride as a group and keep stops to a minimum. The ride is open to adults and youth over 12 who are accompanied by a parent/guardian. Thanks to Southwest Properties for their sponsorship of this ride for four years!

Pre-registration is strongly recommended, as group sizes will be limited. More ride details are also available here.
