The Grants Program notice board provides updates throughout the year on major changes to programming (new programs, deletions, criteria), news on budget or policy changes, referrals to other HRM programs and services, application deadlines, public hearing notices, or meetings and workshops.

Community Grants Program 2005-2006

The Community Grants Program will not be opening until January 2005. Application deadline for the program for the current year will be Friday, April 1, 2005.

Please be advised that the program is currently under review, and changes to funding criteria may occur.

Grants for Community Events are not eligible for funding under the HRM Community Grants Program. These are funded under Recreation, Tourism & Culture Grants

Tax Exemption for Non-Profit Organizations Program

Please be advised that applications are no longer being accepted for this program, as the due date was November 30th, 2004.

Residential Tax Exemption Program

Between May 1st and December 31st of each year, applications for tax rebates can be accepted and processed at all HRM Customer Service Centres or mailed to the HRM Grants Program Staff.

This program is currently open at this time.

In Progress. Staff from HRM Real Property Asset Management, HRM Financial Services and the Grants Program are developing guidelines and information materials for the disposal of HRM Surplus Buildings and the lease of HRM-owned properties to community groups. Watch for details on this web site.

Web Site Links. This year's Grants Program web site is expanding its links to connect community groups to related HRM programs and services. Watch for new links to the Heritage Property Program, Naturally Green, Financial Services, and Councillor's web sites. We have also added some links to other government or philanthropic agencies who provide grants. We plan to add to the links each year.

Annual Report 2001-2002 HRM Grants Program Annual Report 2001-2002 is now accessible on-line and at all HRM Public Libraries.
