Arts, Culture & Heritage

To preserve, present and promote the arts, culture and heritage assets of HalifaxCanada Day Concert   Regional Municipality for the benefit of our citizens and the enjoyment of visitors.

Halifax Regional Municipality has a wealth of cultural resources. There are municipal and community owned cultural facilities, municipal and community cultural programs, and hundreds of arts, culture and heritage organizations whose mandates range from recreational pursuits to professional careers. The activities generated by these organizations create community vitality, enhance the local economy, and provide a rich environment for residents and visitors.

Multicultural Festival

Program delivery by the Culture and Heritage division includes policy development; public awareness of community, arts, cultural and heritage assets; development of community partnerships; facilitating arts, culture and heritage growth; and increasing the community’s capacity through facility management and capital investment in infrastructure.
