Mayor Kelly receives Telecom Pioneers Award December 2003

Aliant Pioneers present a plaque to Mayor Kelly expressing their thanks for his support and continuing involvement with their reading program "A Book About Me."

Mayor Peter Kelly has been the recipient of many awards and recognitions, including:

2004

Patriotic Award in appreciation for years of dedication to Canadian Veterans. Mayor Kelly is only the second individual in Canada to receive this distinction.

Recognized as one of the 2004 Top 50 CEOs for Atlantic Canada award, as presented by Atlantic Business Magazine.

2003

Elected to the Presidency of the World Energy Cities Partnership. This partnership of eight cities whose economies are tied to the oil and gas industry assist each other in advancing their economic development.

Telecom Pioneers Partner Excellence Award for commitment to building healthy communities.

2002

Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for enduring commitment to the community.

1999

Bronze Scroll of Recognition from the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities.

Outstanding Leadership Award from the Metro Food Bank.

1992

Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada in recognition of significant contribution to compatriots, community and to Canada.
