Mayor Peter J. Kelly is seeking nominations for the this year’s annual Mayor’s awards in Literary Achievement and Excellence in Book Illustration. Each award is a $1500.00 prize and recognizes the outstanding literary contributions made by a resident of the Halifax Regional Municipality. Both awards will be presented at the Atlantic Book Awards at Alderney Landing Theatre on April 14, 2010.

The Mayor’s Awards Program represent a valuable means for the Mayor and Regional Council to celebrate the achievements of HRM’s arts and cultural professionals.

Mayor’s Award for Literary Achievement

Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Book Illustration

Nominations will be accepted until Friday March 19th at 4:00pm.
