The mandate of the Customer Service Centres of the Halifax Regional Municipality is to provide "one stop shopping" and ease of access to municipal services for the residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Our philosophy is to bring the administration of the Region closer to the communities served, while providing a strong focus on customer service and community based service  delivery.

There are six Customer Service Centres to serve the citizens of the Halifax Regional Municipality; three of these centres are designated as Power Centres and the other three as Service Centres.

The Power Centres are defined as full service locations which include the services of the Development and Planning, and Engineering departments. This allows the one stop shopping concept which includes Development, Planning and Engineering permit applications. These Power Centres are located at 6960 Mumford Road, Halifax, 636 Sackville Drive in Lower Sackville, and 40 Alderney Drive, Dartmouth.

The hours of operation are 8:30 - 4:30, Monday through Friday, with 24 hour drop off payment boxes at all locations. The accepted methods of payments at the Customer Service Centres are cash, cheques, debit card, Visa, Master Card and American Express. (Credit cards are not accepted for the payment of taxes, local improvements, water bills or marriage licenses.)
