HRM staff frequently receive inquiries from the public on how we decide which streets and sidewalks will be built or worked on in a given year. Here is a list of “Quick Facts” and commonly asked questions designed to shed some light on the decision-making process.

HRM Municipal Operations
Municipal Operations currently maintains a fleet of eight cars tasked with the job of keeping an eye out for problems around HRM, and directly reporting them into a prioritized database of job requisitions. Pot holes, downed trees, damaged signs, or sidewalk problems, are just a few of the things they might encounter in the run of a day.
