Plan Record Services

Plan Record Services provides record drawing information for underground services to other sections within Design & Construction Services, as well as other HRM departments and external clients.  All engineering drawings created by/for the HRM, must conform to the  automated drafting standards of the HRM Municipal Service Systems (Red Book). Copies of the document and any related prototype can be obtained from the office of the Supervisor of Plan Record Services. The HRM uses AutoCAD/Civil 3D software to meet its automated drafting needs.

Additional responsibilities include record management of HRM Infrastructure including filing and storage of survey and engineering design and record plans on hard copy, microfilm, scanned images and electronic drawing files.  Responsible for the survey of property owners with respect to proposed infrastructure upgrades and capital projects where Local Improvement Charges apply.
