Councillor Jackie Barkhouse, along with HRM's Sustainable Environment Management Office, and Emergency Measures Organization, host the second Climate Change Workshop in Cow Bay.  There were a number of residents that attended, along with representatives from Dalhousie University who demonstrated with their visualization tool for modelling sea level rise. It was a very informative session. The 2011 Halifax Regional Municipality Volunteer Awards were presented on Wednesday evening, April 20th at Harbourview Holiday Inn, Dartmouth. Receiving personal awards from Eastern Passage were Marie Ayotte, Haley Girardeau (youth award) and Mick Stephenson (no photo). Councillor Jackie Barkhouse nominated Halifax Regional Search and Rescue for a community group volunteer award, accepting the award on behalf of the search team was Search Director John Matheson, also of Eastern Passage.
