Tim was born and raised in HRM. He is a graduate of Dalhousie University and has completed executive and management programs at Queen's University, York University, and the University of Toronto. He returned to HRM in 2000 (after living and working for 13 years in Moncton, Vancouver and Toronto) to raise his family in Bedford.
Tim is president & CEO of novaknowledge, a 15 year-old conomic development organization that advocates for a progressive and knowledge-driven economy for Nova Scotia. Prior to joining novaknowledge, he was Director of Business Development at AOL; World Wide Channels Manager for Electronics Workbench software, and Vice President of QUICKLAW. Tim is fortunate to have conducted business in 10 provinces, 33 US States, and in over a dozen countries.
Tim is married to Sandra Toze, who teaches within the Faculty of Management at Dalhousie University and is working on her PhD. He has two daughters attending Eaglewood Elementary School in Bedford.

He is also a strong supporter of the objectives of groups such as the Greater Halifax Partnership, Halifax Chamber of Commerce, FUSION Halifax, Halifax Student Alliance, Metropolitan Immigrant Settlement Association, Envision Halifax, and JCI that are striving to grow our economy and combat our demographic challenges.
