Reg Rankin, a native of Mabou, Cape Breton, has lived in the Timberlea area for 19 years. He served as Councillor for that area on the Halifax County Council since 1991 and was elected to serve as Councillor for the Halifax Regional Municipality. Councillor Rankin is very active in the community.
Councillor Rankin's former careers included a position in business education and he held the position as Director of Finance for the Municipality of Inverness County, Nova Scotia.
He holds degrees in Business Administration and Education and is a Certified Property Manager. He has a CMA, Certificate of Municpal Administration from Henson College, Dalhousie University. Councillor Rankin and his wife Christine have three children.
