Profile

Peter Lund was elected to Halifax Regional Council in October 2008, representing District 23 Hammonds Plains - St. Margaret's.

Peter is a hydrogeologist, business owner and consultant with almost 30 years of experience working with governments and communities.  His recent efforts have been on working with the Sydney Tar Ponds Agency and DEVCO on cleaning up former industrial sites and restoring fish habitat.

He was instrumental in finding a cost effective solution for cleaning up 80 acres of downtown Toronto designated for low cost housing, saving $60 million.

He has worked with large international companies and local Nova Scotia firms as a client manager for:

Federal Government (DND, PWGSC)
Provincial Governments (ON, NF, NS)
Municipal Governments (City Toronto, HRM)
Law Firms (Stikeman Elliot, Gowling, Strathy &Henderson)
Industry (CN, Lafarge, NSPI)
Financial Institutions (CIBC, Federal Business Development Bank)

Peter grew up in the small valley town of Hantsport, was educated at Acadia University, and has lived in Halifax and Toronto before settling in St. Margaret’s Bay in 1995.
