The Eco-Efficiency Centre

The Eco-Efficiency Centre is a not-for-profit organization that works to improve the environmental and financial performance of small and medium sized enterprises in Nova Scotia. They work to enhance the efficiency of individual companies on the one hand, while encouraging cooperative efforts among businesses. The Centre encourages companies to achieve better environmental and economic performance through resource conservation, pollution prevention, reuse, recycling and good environmental practices.

The Centre offers a number of services to the business community including Environmental Reviews, the Eco-Business Program, the Eco-Efficiency Business Assistance Program, and the Nova Scotia Material Exchange. The Centre is a project of the Dalhousie University that is supported by private corporations, governments, and foundations. In addition to offering support for the business community, the Eco-Efficiency Centre provides students with work experiences, and serves as a point of contact between the business community and the university to foster applied research on eco-efficiency and pollution.
