Recreation Consultation
HRM values the comments and feedback that is received from community members. The Community Development Department is the business unit in HRM that oversees Community Recreation Services, Community Facility Development, Community Engagement and many other quality of life services. Strategic planning guides the way for staff to ensure that the mandates determined by Regional Council are met or exceeded for our citizens.
The Community Facility Master Plan (CFMP) was approved in 2008. The CFMP is the strategic plan that recommends the review of aging municipal recreation facilities with the goal of improving them for the future. Community engagement is an important step in planning for our future recreation facilities.
A key part of any review process is to find out what the community feels is important for the future. In your community, it is time to review the effectiveness of the programs and services offered at the Tallahassee Community Centre (how well it is meeting your needs) and to identify whether or not there is opportunity for some change or additions in services and programs.
The community’s feedback will be used to inform and develop recommendations to Community Development staff about future recreation programs and services in your community. Please take the time to fill out the survey below. This survey will be available online over the summer through to the end of October to ensure that there is every opportunity for people to participate. In addition, staff will be organizing small group meetings in order to talk with you directly on this topic. You can also contact us by phone or email at 490-5713 or CFMP[at]halifax.ca.
