| CHANGING OF THE GUARD – Firefighter/Engineer Stephen McKay of Station 16 and his wife, Heather McKay of Human Resources, are relieved on their volunteer shift at a Salvation Army kettle at Micmac Mall by Fire Prevention Officer George Evans during our department Kettle Day Dec. 14th. Our members, career and volunteer, give of their time every year to help the Salvation Army with their Christmas donation program. |

THE WAREHOUSE BAY – Still early in the event, volunteers sort the food and other goods contributed by residents of Hammonds Plains during Station 50’s huge annual Santa Driveby and food bank event. Station 50/51 Chief Dan Melkert is at centre left. By early evening, everything had been sorted and eight pickup truck loads of food, toys and other items had been delivered to five food banks and other charities. About $1,000 in cash was also donated. The money was converted to gift certificates and given to charities for distribution. |
