Mission:

To provide pro-active education, training and staff development for our members & to enhance safety and efficiency through standardized programs.

Operations personnel (firefighters) who are especially skilled in certain fields are often invited to assist in specific training courses.

Numerous volunteer members have become qualified instructors and are invaluable in building the skills of the volunteer members. Besides weekly in-station training, multi-station and even zone-wide training exercises are held by the volunteers.

Scores of fire cadets, who are involved in Level One FF and Level Two FF training at Holland College, Nova Scotia Fire Fighting School and Memorial University, go through the our placement and orientation program each year. Each is assigned about 16 shifts at an HRM station.
