A Smoke Alarm Is Such A Small Investment
The Reward May Be Your Life
To date, our firefighters have responded to over 1400 requests, installing over 1550 alarms. Over 1100 batteries have been replaced for existing alarms.
This program also give our front-line firefighters an opportunity to educate the public on the importance of an early warning device in the home, and to demonstrate to the residents how to maintain and test their smoke alarms.
History: In early 1997, the "Alarmed & Ready" Program was developed by the people who are first on the fire scene - the firefighters.
