Nova Scotia ReStore Logo.jpg

Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity NS ReStore

Make a contribution with passion and time!
THE GREENEST STORE IN NOVA SCOTIA

Help the environment, while helping to build safe decent affordable homes all at the same time, all without lifting a hammer! (You don’t have to know how to build a home to become a volunteer.)

Volunteering is a great way to be a part of Habitat's work. We rely on the valuable support of literally thousands of volunteers for the builds, our boards, committees, and in the ReStore.

Habitats mission is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty. Our Mission is a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.

Habitat for Humanity NS ReStore is a building supply stores run by Habitat for Humanity NS that accept and resell quality new and used building materials. Shopping at a ReStore is a socially conscious decision, asfunds generatedare used to fund Habitat homebuilding projects. As well, shopping at a ReStore is also an environmentally conscious decision (diverting approx. 100 metric tons of material from our Landfills in NS in 2010), as much of what is sold at ReStores is product that is re-useable, new, gently used or customer returns that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Remember the 3 Rs -Reuse, Recycle, ReStore.

Various volunteer positions available: merchandising/staging, greeters, cashiers, donation collectors, donation inventory, organizers and social media assistance and much more.

For more information contact: Shona Chaisson, Habitat for Humanity NS ReStore Manager
