The Collin's Park Public Water Supply Area provides water to approximately 80 residences and businesses in the Wellington area. The watershed area contributing to the intake at Lake Fletcher covers approximately 16 000 hectares.
Water supply stakeholders and users in this watershed include residents, businesses, tourism and recreation. The Collin's Park Public Water Supply Area is subject to regulations under Halifax Regional Municipality Legislation and Bylaws.

A portion Waverly-Salmon River Long Lake Wilderness Area overlaps the water supply area and is protected under the Wilderness Act. The water supply area also encompasses part of the Waverly Game Sanctuary which has associated regulations under the wilderness act.
