ONE (1) TEMPORARY WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

Halifax Water is inviting applications for one (1) temporary Water Treatment Plant Operator for a period of approximately eight to ten months. Under the direction of the designated supervisor, who may or may not be on site, this position operates the water treatment plants, and performs maintenance of equipment associated with water supply plant facilities. The Operator will work 12 hour shifts, day shifts, or operate and maintain small systems plants at the location to which he or she is assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: A two year technical program related to Water Treatment; an equivalent combination of formal education and related experience in a water treatment environment may be considered. The successful incumbent must successfully complete Operator-in-Training Water Treatment Certificate within six months of date of hire and pass the Level 1 examination within twelve months. He or she must also possess a valid NS driver’s license.
