Water Treatment Facilities

Halifax Water operates three large water supply plants. Customers living in Halifax, Bedford, Sackville, Fall River, Waverley and Timberlea consume water from the J. Douglas Kline Water Supply Plant at Pockwock Lake. Customers living in Dartmouth, Eastern Passage Westphal and Cole Harbour receive their water from the Lake Major Water Supply Plant at Lake Major.  The Bennery Lake Water Supply Plant produces water for the Airport and the Aerotech Park.

These facilities are operated by certified water treatment plant operators, produce water that meets or exceeds the requirements of the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality, and have capacity to supply their communities for many years of growth and expansion.
