ORDINANCE NUMBER 178
RESPECTING
THE EXEMPTING FROM TAXATION OF THE PLANT AND EQUIPMENT OF THE
PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF HALIFAX
BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Halifax
under the authority of Section 3A of the Assessment Act, being
Chapter 14 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1964, as
amended, as follows:
1. This Ordinance shall be known as Ordinance Number 178 and
may be cited as the "Public Service Commission Tax Exemption
Ordinance".
2. The buildings, pump stations, deep well pumps, main
transmission lines, distribution lines, meters and associated
plant and equipment of the Public Service Commission of Halifax
shall be exempt from taxation pursuant to the Assessment Act
commencing in the taxation year 1985.

WAS READ AND PASSED A FIRST AND SECOND TIME AT CITY COUNCIL
MEETINGS HELD ON OCTOBER 25, 1984 AND NOVEMBER 15, 1984,
RESPECTIVELY.
