BY-LAW A-405 RESPECTING ALTERNATIVE VOTING

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that By-law A-405 respecting Alternative Voting was adopted by Halifax Regional Council on June 13, 2017.

The purpose of the By-law is to amend By-law A-400 respecting Alternative Voting to update supporting legislation for internet and telephone voting (alternative voting).

The text of the amended By-law A-400 may be viewed on the Internet in the Legislation section at www.halifax.ca or copies obtained from the Office of the Municipal Clerk, 1841 Argyle Street, 2nd floor, Halifax between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

BY-LAW E-204 RESPECTING ENCROACHMENTS UPON,
UNDER OR OVER A STREET

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that By-law E-204 respecting encroachments upon, under or over a street was adopted by Halifax Regional Council on June 13, 2017.

The purpose of the By-law is to amend By-law E-200 respecting encroachments upon, under or over a street for which is to give Council the authority to waive fees associated with enlarging existing encroachments to install barrier free access to residential and commercial properties to improve accessibility.

BY-LAW S-1002 RESPECTING THE REGULATION OF SIDEWALK CAFÉS

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that By-law S-1002 respecting the Regulation of Sidewalk Cafés was adopted by Halifax Regional Council on June 13, 2017.

The purpose of the By-law is to approve amendments to By-law S-1000 respecting the Regulation of Sidewalk Cafés to allow a security or bond to be provided to the Municipality by an applicant tenant as an alternative to the current requirement for written consent from the property owner.
