Final Costs of CAO's Departure Released

(Wednesday, November 28/2001)-- Figures released today show the final costs associated with the resignation of former Chief Administrative Officer Ken Meech were $247,040.

The figures, prepared by the municipality's pension and benefit provider-- William M. Mercer and Associates, are based on the relevant sections of Mr. Meech's contract with HRM and the conditions of the termination of that employment relationship.

The amount basically provides for pay-out of salary and benefits for an 18-month period.
