Motorists Urged to Seek Off-Street Parking

(Wednesday, November 6/2002)-- While the overnight winter parking ban will not be implemented within the Urban Core area prior to December 1st, motorists are reminded that Section139 of the provincial Motor Vehicle Act states that parked vehicles obstructing snow removal or winter maintenance operations may be removed at the owner's cost--- regardless of time or date.

In light of the winter storm forecast overnight, HRM advises vehicle owners to secure off-street parking so as not to interfere with snow/ice clearing operations and to avoid having their vehicle ticketed and towed.
