Winter Parking Ban Goes into Effective This Weekend

(Thursday, January 2/2003)--- The overnight winter parking restrictions for the Urban Core service area of the Halifax Regional Municipality will commence at 1 a.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2003.

• On-street parking will be prohibited between 1:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. until March 31, 2003.
  
• Parking will also be prohibited from one hour after the start of a snow storm until two hours after storm has stopped.

Residents are reminded that Section 139 of the Motor Vehicle Act provides that parked vehicles obstructing snow removal or winter maintenance operations may be removed at the owner's cost regardless of time or date.
