Notice of Construction for Residents of Southwood Dr. Halifax

Construction is now underway on the sewage collection system(SCS) component of the Halifax Harbour Solutions project. Dexter Harbour Solutions Ltd. has been contracted by HRM for the design and construction of the sewage collection system.

A section of the SCS runs along Southwood Dr. from Tower Rd. to Young Ave. Construction of this portion of the work will begin the week of Nov.17th and be completed within 16 working days.

The new pipeline runs down the south side of the street which means residences on this side will experience short term disruption of municipal services(water service, storm and sanitary sewers). Disruptions are expected to be less than one day. The current portion of the street being worked on will be narrowed to one-way traffic. Traffic control personnel will ensure smooth traffic flow. On-site personnel will maintain communication with local residents to provide current notice of service disruption and to help minimize impacts.
