Metro Transit Bus & Ferry Holiday Service
December 22, 2003Metro Transit wishes to advise the travelling public of the following service adjustments to its various services throughout
the coming Holiday Season.
On Christmas Eve afternoon, Wednesday, December 24th, the Woodside Ferry service will be moved ahead to run
from 12:22p.m. - 3:37 p.m, rather than its usual schedule of 3:22 p.m. - 6:19 p.m. All other services are operating as
per normal on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, the conventional bus service will operate on a reduced frequency. Several
routes will be reduced to operate at ½ their regular holiday service schedule. To obtain detailed schedule information for
Christmas Day (which is not published in the current schedule booklet) please check our website at
www.halifax.ca/metrotransit or call the HRM Call Centre at 490-4000.
Access-A-Bus service is operating on its holiday schedule for Christmas Day, and all ferry services and Community Transit
service are not operating on Christmas Day.
On Boxing Day, conventional transit, Access-A-Bus and the Alderney Ferry Service are on holiday schedules, (the first
ferry from Dartmouth is at 7:30 a.m., running ½ hour frequency until the last departure from Dartmouth at 11:30 p.m and
from Halifax at 11:45 p.m). The Woodside Ferry Service and the Community Transit service are not operating.
New Year's Eve Day will have all Metro Transit services operating on their regular schedules, until 8:30 p.m, at which
time all (operating) services are offered free of charge and will be extended. (Please refer the Metro Transit "Free New
Year's Eve Designated Driver" PSA for complete details on the free/extended service.)
New Year's Day, Metro Transit bus and Access-A-Bus services will operate holiday service, however, all ferry services
and the Community Transit service are not running. We would like to remind those wishing to cross the harbour, that bus
service does operate during the time when the ferry does not.
Aside from the above, regular services will apply. For more details, please call 490-4000 or visit our website. Metro Transit
wishes all a safe and happy holiday!
